Villa OD is a country house located on the borders of the settlement of Kynigos just a few kilometers away from the scenic town of Pylos. The Messinian countryside and the vast olive groves that dominate the landscape, were a point of reference for the design and study of the project.

The project involves a multi-storey residence whose study had as its main goal the creation of a modern, luxurious, and atmospheric country house that will accommodate up to 9 people and offer them a holistic experience of the Messinian landscape and local tradition through its services, amenities and infrastructure that will be offered to its guests.

The two-storey stone building dates back to the beginning of the previous century and unites several elements of the local traditional architecture. The bearing stone wall “argolithodomi” with the characteristic “agonaria” (cornerstone) in the corners was entirely preserved as well as the typology of the “L” shape of the building where the main spaces are organized in two similar levels of a total area of 196 sq.m.

The building was completely renovated internally, the roof, frames etc. were all replaced, while the surrounding exterior plot was redesigned from scratch.

The upper floor of the building is organized with the living room, dining and kitchen area, a W.C. and a master bedroom with king size bed and en-suite bathroom. On the lower level the space is arranged with 3 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, two that can accommodate 2 guests each and one for 3 guests.

The visible stone on vertical surfaces and floors, the wooden furniture, floors and structures, the marble, the white plaster, the dark metal elements, and details, the colour palette in neutral earthy tones as well as the retro brushstrokes all compose the final image of the project and highlight the desired aesthetics and quality of the building.
